Tweaking Vibe Streamer

If you have not used Vibe Streamer you must try it for listening your Mp3 files from different server. To do that,

• Copy all your music in some folders.
  Vibe streamer works in windows environment. I use Ubuntu for file server.
• Run Vibe server
  I used Wine in Ubuntu to run windows exe. It should work like a charm. I just needed to double check Ubuntu firewall does not block Vibe server 8081 port (default setup does not do that). Point to that music folder and index.
  

Tips for further customization
There are not much documentation of Vibe Streamer theme. Its based on EXTJS framework so its

• I use Vibe streamer to share my collection of musics with few close friends and family memebers. First I wanted to replace any links that drags them out of my site. For example at the right-top there is a link for "www.vibestreamer.com". Hardcoded texts are spread accross different files. its easy but "Vibe Streamer" text displayed in Left top side of webpage.

  find . -type f -print | xargs grep "Vibe Streamer"

  I found its hard coded in /sites/default/build/vibe-all.js . Javascript file is minified so be careful to to mess the JS loader.
  
  
• For finding image I used Firebug. You can also find and change layout CSS files in the same way. Some URLs of interest may be
  
  1. Logo in the login screen: /sites/default/_public/images/box-title.gif
  2. Logo at the top of the site: /sites/default/resources/images/logo.gif

Obama's Thanksgiving message

President Barak Obama sent to his campaign supporters Wednesday afternoon,

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, Americans across the country will sit down together, count our blessings, and give thanks for our families and our loved ones.

American families reflect the diversity of this great nation. No two are exactly alike, but there is a common thread they each share.

Our families are bound together through times of joy and times of grief. They shape us, support us, instill the values that guide us as individuals, and make possible all that we achieve.

So tomorrow, I'll be giving thanks for my family -- for all the wisdom, support, and love they have brought into my life.

But tomorrow is also a day to remember those who cannot sit down to break bread with those they love.

The soldier overseas holding down a lonely post and missing his kids. The sailor who left her home to serve a higher calling. The folks who must spend tomorrow apart from their families to work a second job, so they can keep food on the table or send a child to school.

We are grateful beyond words for the service and hard work of so many Americans who make our country great through their sacrifice. And this year, we know that far too many face a daily struggle that puts the comfort and security we all deserve painfully out of reach.

So when we gather tomorrow, let us also use the occasion to renew our commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous future that every American family can enjoy.

Cheating in Chess using Bluetooth

Its Intersting wikipedia has an entry for Cheat in Chess! In and International rating chess tournament 2006, Umakanta, an Indian chess player was banned from playing competitive chess for ten years due to cheating.

During the tournament at Subroto Park, Umakant Sharma was caught receiving instructions from an accomplice using a chess computer via a Bluetooth-enabled device which had been sewn into his cap. ^{[7] [8]} The accomplices he had been communicating with were outside the location at which he was playing, and were relaying moves from a computer simulation.

Officials became suspicious after Sharma made unusually large gains in rating points during the previous eighteen months, even qualifying for the national championship.^[8] Umakant began the year with an average rating of 1933, and in 64 games gained over 500 points to attain a rating of 2484.

Officials received multiple written complaints alleging that Umakant's moves were in the exact same sequence suggested by the chess computer HIARCS 10.^[7]

Eventually, in the seventh round of the tournament, Indian Air Force officials searched the players at the top eight boards with a metal detector and found that Umakant was the only player who was cheating.

Umakant's ten-year ban was imposed by the All India Chess Federation (AICF) after reviewing evidence presented by Umakant himself and the electronic devices seized by the tournament organizers.^[6] The penalty was considered harsh, especially considering that those in other sports who have been found to be doping and match fixing did not receive such lengthy suspensions.^[9] When officials were asked about the suspension they stated, "We wanted to be frank and send a stern message to all players. It is like cheating on exams."^[9]

SEO is the way to hack a search engine. If a search engine has weakness those optimizer find that and eventually Google is distracted with lot of wrong keywords. I was looking at a "open source POS" and 4th link was for a software called FreePOS.

I find inside the page Rebranded & Open Source FreePOS Solutions. You have to Pay US$ 25,0000 and they will show source code. So its Open source . Do you agree with that? or Just one of the tricks to get visible when someone search by free open source.

Email services like Gmail MUST have this feature

I always find I have to find attachment in my desktop. Why not Gmail let me attach files from files I have sent before. That would really save lot of time.
